Explanatory Information

These open data files contain indexes to admission registers from:

•     St Vincent's Home, Nudgee;
•     Diamantina Orphanage and the Diamantina Receiving Depot;
•     Rockhampton Orphanage, later Rockhampton Receiving Depot;
•     Meteor Park Orphanage, Neerkol near Rockhampton.

The original records are held at Queensland State Archives.

The data entries link to images of the original admission register, which will download to your viewing device if you click the ‘Link for URL’ button at the end of the data row.

Some minor editing of the date field has been done to present the dates in a consistent format and to assist searching. Some missing dates were reconstructed as the 1^st of July of the year in the year field. If the admission date is significant for your research, then you are advised to consult the original documents which can be viewed via the URL link.
