Members Lounge
Members Lounge is a collection of free activities and is mostly exclusively for QFHS members, adding extra value to your existing membership.
Appreciating the need for members to have more opportunities to interact with each other, the Members Lounge also provides a relaxed companion to the ‘work’ of our research.
The schedule of activities allows for variation between day (e.g. 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM) and evening (7:30 PM) sessions, allowing members maximum access amidst their busy lives.
To ensure maximum flexibility for members, most activities are designed to be hybrid events – i.e., they will encompass both online attendance and in-person attendance at the Family History Research Centre in Chermside-Geebung. However, hybrid events are not possible for all activities and members are requested to keep an eye out for any exceptions.
Activities included in the Members Lounge include:
- Book Club – Every two months
- Presenting… – Every month with a guest speaker
- Socials - Every month, mostly in-person activities: a film, excursion, coffee morning. Scheduled variously throughout the month as the activity dictates.
- Talking about... – Every second month
- Trout Game - Once per year, an in-person activity
The organisation and delivery of these events are no small undertaking and involves tremendous work. Thank you to the volunteers assisting.
