Jennifer Harrison is a research fellow with the School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry at The University of Queensland following a career mainly based on history and biographical research.
One of her main interests has been the worldwide input of the ‘Coming of the Strangers’ to nineteenth century Queensland.
Tracing the origins of these pioneers - convicts, British soldiers, farmers, explorers and a complexity of others - raised many intriguing questions leading to much travelling over many years seeking answers.
These research adventures have been a delight, as has investigating her own extended family connections which had its Australian genesis in 1792.
