Code of Conduct

The Queensland Family History Society’s Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour expected of all members of the Society. Members are obliged to abide by this code when at the QFHS Family History Research Centre, attending QFHS events, and when representing the Society in any capacity. Members in breach of the Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action.

As a member of the Society, you should adhere to this Code of Conduct.

  • Treat all members of and visitors to the Society with respect and courtesy, irrespective of such issues as race, gender, religious affiliation, and political views.
  • Behave with honesty and integrity in word and action.
  • Foster a calm, quiet, controlled environment.
  • Acknowledge that QFHS is a non-sectarian, apolitical, not-for-profit charitable society.
  • Recognise and accept that members of and visitors to the Society have differing levels of experience in family history research and knowledge.
  • Comply with Australian and Queensland laws.

 

Breaches of the Code of Conduct

If the Management Committee considers that a member has breached the Code of Conduct the Management Committee may resolve to warn the member or to consider termination of membership in accordance with the provisions of Rule 8 (2) (iv) of the Constitution.
