AFFHO confers the Nick Vine Hall Award to promote family history journals and newsletters. The award also honours the memory of Nick Vine Hall, AM, who did much to retain the Australian census and to highlight genealogy through his radio broadcasts.

The Community History Award recognises the rich history of Queensland’s diverse communities, and seeks to encourage the communication of those histories in varied formats. This award was inaugurated in 2010.
