Volunteers Thank You Morning Tea

 

At the morning tea held on 9 December 2024 we announced new awards and presented certificates to the following:

Alex Daw (nominated by Allana O’Kane)

Cr193b

Wendy Angliss (nominated by Alex Daw)

and

Dale Fogarty (nominated by Ruth Linde)

Dale was overseas and will be presented with her certificate early in 2025.

We also presented an Honorary Life Membership and certificate to Maureen Arthur

Citations for these awards will be published in the February 2025 Queensland Family Historian.

We then announced the names of our latest Fellows of QFHS,

Mary Geiger, Bev Bonning and Jackie Buttress.

We are arranging a date for presentation of their certificates.

Allana O’Kane announced the winner of the Journal of the Year: Members Choice Award, won by Jan Swift.

All participating members were placed in a draw for the prize of a gift voucher for an Education event of their choice, and Ross Hansen was the delighted winner.

We Remember Them: wartime stories in our family tree

The We Remember Them project will gather stories from our members focusing on the wartime stories in their family trees.  A virtual Honour Board will be created on this website to display an image of the individual and a few vital statistics. Each image will be linked to the story of that person’s wartime experiences. Read More
