Notes:THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD ONLINE
Presenter: Nancy Edwards
Poets can help us place our ancestor by:
Time period – perhaps Oliver Goldsmith in the 1700s
Occupation - Oliver Goldsmith (Country Clergyman) or Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (The Village Blacksmith)
Location – James Reynolds Withers (Cambridgeshire) or Henry Lawson (Australia).
Do you know a poem or poet that exhibits these values?
Have you heard a poem read with the accent of the poet, which could help you transcribe that old document?
Have you noticed that some themes have not changed over hundreds of years?
Come and share your thoughts or read your poem over a virtual cuppa.
Please note. A "Talking About" session is a discussion group where everyone is given the opportunity to contribute by sharing their knowledge and experience, asking questions and/or giving opinions and answers. It is not a presentation. It is open to all levels of experience; no question is too silly to ask.
As these sessions have a limited number of tickets to ensure everyone gets their chance to participate in the discussion, if you are booked and realise you are now unable to attend, please advise us so we can reallocate your ticket to someone on the waitlist.
This event will be held at 10 am Queensland, Australia time (AEST, no daylight saving).
