Country, Interstate and Overseas Members

If you are a member of QFHS who lives in the country (a member who lives more than 50 km from the Brisbane General Post Office), interstate or overseas, you can access the following special services:

Research

Like all members of QFHS, you have access to the members only searchable databases available on our website.

Like all members of QFHS, you can use our Look-up Service (intended for a search in a resources held by the Society but not available online. You can make as many Look-up requests as you like, but you must wait for the reply to your current request before submitting another one.

In addition, as a country, interstate or overseas member, each year you are entitled to two free hours of Extended Research where we undertake research to try and answer a question that may require many resources to be consulted. If you require more that two hours, we can provide this at a discounted rate of $20 per hour. Further details are available on the Research Page.

Visiting QFHS

If you are visiting Brisbane and wish to use the Family History Research Centre, please contact the Secretary to make a booking for a computer or the digital microfiche/film reader, if required.

Special Christmas Arrangements

During the Christmas closure period, we can make special arrangements for you to access the library if you are visiting Brisbane during the holidays. Contact the Secretary at least a week beforehand.
